Hello and welcome to my website.

We can experience emotional challenges around changes we have faced in the past or are trying to deal with now. When we are struggling, even if we have support from family and friends it seems that they may want to give us advice to solve what they see as our problems, without acknowledging our experiences and feelings. Also, it may be hard for us to tell those we care about what we are struggling with or how difficult our feelings really are due to fear criticism or of causing upset and concern.

As a counsellor, I am able to offer you a confidential, professional, non-judgemental relationship to explore your feelings and the changes in your life that you want to make or are trying to cope with.  I have experience of working with clients across a wide variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, bereavement, unresolved childhood experiences, relationship breakdowns and difficulties, work related stress, loss of identity, self-image problems, low self-esteem, lack of motivation, coping with sudden life changes and the impact and aftermath of the Covid 19 pandemic restrictions.

In addition to being a counsellor, I am also a qualified social worker registered with Social Work England (SWE) with over 30 years experience of working in adult social care. As a social worker I have worked with a wide variety of adults and young people ranging from those living with complex learning and physical disabilities to those living with mental health difficulties and dementia. I also have significant experience of working with carers around the variety of challenges that caring roles can create.

In relation to other qualifications relevant to working with people, I have an honours degree in Psychology and I am a qualified Best Interests Assessor in relation to the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards ( DoLS) under the Mental Capacity Act (2005).
