How I work ....

I have Level 7 counselling training in the person centred approach and in addition to this I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) practitioner, holding a recognised Level 5 qualification that enables me to incorporate CBT therapeutic skills and theory into my counselling work. Drawing on both of these theoretical frameworks I am able to adapt the counselling service I offer to your individual needs and goals.

Person Centred Counselling

is based on the view that everyone has the capacity and desire for personal growth and change, given the right conditions. As such, the counselling relationship itself aims to offer you an accepting, non judgemental environment where you can explore your concerns, come to terms with your experiences and feelings to change and develop in your own way.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Anxiety, low moods and a range of other concerns can be explored in a structured way by looking at the relationship between your thoughts, feelings and behaviours to promote your self awareness. The use of a variety of techniques both within and outside of sessions offers you the opportunity to make changes to manage the problems you are experiencing.
