How I work ....

My practice draws on the following therapeutic approaches:

Person Centred Therapy

is based on the view that everyone has the capacity and desire for personal growth and change, given the right conditions. As such, the counselling relationship itself aims to offer you an accepting, non judgemental environment where you can explore your concerns, come to terms with your experiences and feelings to change and develop in your own way.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

suggests anxiety, low moods and a range of other concerns can be explored in a structured way by looking at the relationship between your thoughts, feelings and behaviours to promote your self awareness. The use of a variety of techniques both within and outside of sessions offers you the opportunity to make changes to manage the problems you are experiencing.

Solution Focused Therapy

offers you an opportunity to focus on the future, how you want your life to look and on solutions to your problems as opposed to dwelling on the past and what's not working for you.  It encourages you to set goals, to identify and nurture your existing strengths that can support you to grow and move forwards.
